Surgical treatment of symptomatic femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) ranges from open surgical hip dislocation (SHD) to minimally invasive arthroscopy and/or mini-open techniques. Arthroscopy offers excellent intra-articular visualisation but is limited in addressing large cam deformities, whereas the mini-open direct anterior approach (DAA) allows direct femoral head–neck access but limited central-compartment assessment. A hybrid technique combining both modalities may overcome these individual limitations.
